I always look for specialists in an area when I buy real estate (this is my 3rd purchase in the San Francisco Bay Area) and know we found one for the Russian River with David R. Millar. Every question we asked, he had on the tip of his tongue or he researched an answer for to the point of our satisfaction. And he got back to me so quickly with texts and phone calls.

He is incredibly knowledgeable on this geography and loves the area so much; he’s a perfect realtor for the area. Just give him the qualities you want in a home and he puts together a day of touring for you that not only helps you narrow down what you’re looking for but informs you on so much about the area. We didn’t know the Russian River that well but David told us stories, told us background, told us what regulations were important, everything to get us up to speed even how septic tanks function and are regulated! We felt he was so honest and straightforward. He kept me focused when my questions went off track.

We toured with him one Sunday, went back on another day midweek and had a bid on a place by Friday. That’s how informed he made us in one week. He connected us with an insurance agent, the most reputable septic contractor in the area, even with our new contractor who’s a local fireman so we know everything is done up to code. We are so excited for our beautiful little two bedroom 1.5 miles up the hill from the River surrounded by redwoods away from any traffic! We are MORE than happy with the service David provided us. He’s definitely 5 stars in our book!

David is one of a small handful of local experts in the Russian River. If you buy in the RR area you need to leave your hometown favorite agent at home. West Sonoma has its quirks and you need someone who knows the ropes.

David was patient,readily available with the exception of during the time he went to church BUT he made sure I always had someone to cover my needs at any time. I respected that his beliefs were important to him and that he made them a priority.

All went well in a contentious closure David provided level headed advice even though the seller was squirrely and tried to back out.
