The Russian River has so much going on over the 4th of July weekend! Starting today at 3 pm in downtown Guerneville there will be Music in the Plaza  and the Farmers Market featuring local, organic produce. Following that will be the annual fireworks over the Russian River as soon as it gets dark. Then on Friday the 4th of July starting at 10 am and going until 6 pm will be a Craft Fair and BBQ in downtwon Guerneville with a DJ playing dance music all day! The streets will be packed with dancers and true local Americans showing their pride here on the Russian River. Friday and Saturday 11am to 4pm there will be Big Rocky Games in Monte Rio which is awesome if you have children! On Saturday in Monte Rio there will be a Fireman's BBQ the Water Carnival and Fireworks when the Russian River gets dark! Russian River local's Jason Winamaki and Michelle Graham are opening an organic, local, farm fresh smoothie shop here in Guerneville. Michelle specializes in Graphic Design and has done all of the artwork for our signs here at Millar and Company and Jason owns Clear View Tree Care company and is our go to guy when someone needs their trees trimmed or removed. This dynamic duo has teamed up for one of their best accomplishments yet! They have decided to open Blended Choice, an all natural, all organic juice shop here on the Russian River. Their belief is that if people here had a healthy alternative that had no GMO's, no chemicals, and was locally grown, they would chose that choice over anything else. Guerneville is known for its activities such as biking, fishing, swimming, and kayaking since we are located on the Russian River but it is also known for its need to be a hate free, loving community that protects its people and the environment. I was walking through Guerneville today and I realized that I had never actually been inside the Russian River Veterinary Clinic, so I decided to stop in and introduce myself. The veterinary assistant that greeted me was very sweet and informed me that even though the clinic has gone through a recent name change, the actual business is one of the oldest businesses in Guerneville that is still operational. Doctor Ed Schwartzman, who was the veterinarian in the clinic since 1974, has now left the clinic and Dr. John Fitzpatrick has taken over as the veterinarian. The clinic here in Guerneville is quaint and welcoming. The Veterinary assistant informed me that they are not just there for the people who live in town that come regularly, they are a clinic there to help the animal in need. She said that even if you are just on vacation and your pet gets sick, bring them in! The Russian River Veterinary Clinic will be there to make sure your pet gets the care they need and that you leave knowing that Guerneville takes care of all of its visitors...not just the human ones!!!
